Now

I am a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate in the Brain and Cognitive Sciences department at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge. I am working in Prof. H. Sebastian Seung's lab. In 2014 Sebastian moved from MIT to Princeton as the Professor of Computer Science and the Princeton Neuroscience Institute. Currently I am visiting the Princeton Neuroscience Institute as an Ivy-Plus Exchange Scholar, following my advisor. My current research is focusing on automated analysis of electron microscopic (EM) images of neural tissue using convolutional networks (ConvNets).

I received my B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering and B.S. in Biological Sciences at Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea. I had worked as a research intern in Prof. Byoung-Tak Zhang's lab and my previous research projects dealt with EEG signal analysis based on machine learning and human action recognition from video using deep learning.
